We believe a village isn’t just built from stone and mortar, but from mutual support, mutual fun and celebration, mushare community service, and shared experience. Explorer membership is a successful, time-tested cohousing tradition, and a great way to begin.
Becoming an Explorer is your immersion experience in intentional community and bonding through creation of our village - together. It’s a low-risk, high-immersion stage designed to answer your biggest question: 'Is this my future home?''. Instead of just buying a house and hoping for the best, you join the inner circle. You’ll help shape our community culture, walk the land in Greece, and form the deep friendships that make a place feel like home long before you move in.

We’ll send you an email with the Explorer Application & Fee details.

💳 Step 4: Onboarding, Immersion, and Access
€250 — Founding Explorer Rate
For people whose contribution is received within 7 days after their Information Coffee.
€325 — Standard Explorer Membership
For people whose contribution is received after 7 days and within 30 days after their Information Coffee.
€425 — Re-Entry Explorer Membership
For people who return after more than 30 days after their initial information coffee and want to enter or re-enter the active pathway.
Explorer Membership contributions are non-refundable and go directly to GVC operations, onboarding, orientations, monthly plenaries, project updates, community-building sessions, and the practical work of incubating a serious member-led cohousing community.
Explorer Membership is not a deposit toward a home, land interest, legal right, or future purchase.
Any later site visit, Full Community Partner stage, project investment, home purchase, lease, cooperative participation, or legal/financial commitment is separate and will require separate documents and agreements.
We ask people to join when they are ready to participate meaningfully — not simply watch from the sidelines, but begin exploring whether they may truly belong in this community.
Explorer Renewal
€50 per month, by approval only, for up to 4 additional months.
Because some members who are actively engaged may need additional time before visiting the land due to work, family, travel, or other practical circumstances, an Explorer Member may request a limited renewal after the initial 4-month period.
Renewal is:

To request renewal, the member must email Evi before the end of the current 4-month membership period.
Renewal may be granted when the member:

has remained meaningfully engaged in contributing to the community and project

has contributed to the work of the group
-
has a clear and realistic plan for visiting the land within the renewal period
Because this is a popular idea and group, and because we like to keep it small to focus on member needs--Renewal is intended for active members who are continuing to move forward in a serious way. It is not meant to extend passive or inactive membership indefinitely.

🗓️ Join monthly Plenaries (and if Active Explorer, a circle as well).
🎨 Participate in visioning, workshops, and community projects, including transition to Greece and community development.
🤝 Start forming real connections and help shape what we’re building together.

➡️ To be eligible to apply as a Full Community Partner, you must:
1) Remain an active Explorer for at least 4 months, and
2) Visit the project sites in Greece within a reasonable amount of time after your orientations and participation. You are immersing yourself in the intentional community and in the cohousing process during these months.
This immersion ensures your connection is rooted in real relationships --and eventually to place. Rooting in relationship with community first is what distinguishes us from traditional villages and is essential to our group.
3) Transparency: If you miss four plenaries and, as an Active Explorer, haven’t contributed meaningfully to any project (including those that directly support your values or your transition to Greece)—we’ll consider your Explorer Membership inactive.
You’ll be moved to our general mailing list as a supporter, no longer eligible for Community Partnership.
*Please know as well that the need to engage with the process is meant to enrich you and us, and we are aware that those with children and full-time jobs cannot engage as well as others sometimes. Those who demonstrate they are among the special people who value community will be able to talk to us if something comes up.
