A grounded way to explore life here, in person.

A different kind of site visit

These site visits are not standard tourism or real estate tours. They are thoughtfully structured for Explorer Members who want a more grounded experience of the places, the cohousing possibilities, and the practical considerations involved in moving forward.

These members have spent the past few months immersing themselves in intentional community building and co-creation with others online. They've been introduced to how the group uses sociocracy to make decisions and to the process of developing a village that reflects collective vision and values, working with professional partners. They now understand what Community-led housing is and are evaluating it not as an individual real estate consumer but as an integral member of the group co-creating this community-led village co-development.

The aim of the site visits is to provide meaningful time in the settings themselves, a relevant professional context, and the benefit of Evi’s knowledge, coordination, and on-the-ground guidance, so that members can make a more informed decision about the next steps in the pathway.

For those who do wish to continue on the membership pathway after their visit, the process of becoming our future neighbor is not one sudden leap into full investment, but a series of more manageable stages, allowing people to move forward with mutual support and community as we co-create with our partner professionals.

You can read more about the pathway stages on our Full Membership page, where the steps are explained in greater detail.  Thus, after your trip, you'll choose whether to invest a little more in the full membership stage 1 process, with the intention of moving forward toward your dream of living with us in community.

Sample Week

Thu — Arrive in Athens (Koukaki)

Arrive in Athens and settle in. We recommend a morning or early afternoon flight, if possible, so the day can feel relaxed rather than rushed. In the evening, we gather for a warm welcome dinner and an introduction to the days ahead.

Fri — Travel to Laconia & Introduction to the Land

In the morning, we travel south from Athens into Laconia, through the Peloponnese and beneath the Taygetus mountains. After arriving, there is time to settle in and orient yourself. From there, we spend the afternoon on Peter and Paul’s Resort land, the broader setting adjacent to our village, so you can begin to understand the land, the views, the microclimates, and the nearby wellness setting. It is a first chance to take in the larger landscape and begin to feel the context in which the village is emerging.

Sat — Taygete Cohousing Village “New Build” Site Visit

Saturday is the heart of the trip for Taygete Cohousing Village. We begin with an early visit to Sparta’s lively open-air market, then head to the Taygete Cohousing Village land itself for an unhurried experience of the site. We walk the land, take in the views and surroundings, and review the village’s layout on the ground, including the locations of the homes, the Common House, and the overall site plan. We also make time for practical conversation, questions, and discussion about what is fixed, what is still flexible, and how different home choices may work. The aim is not only to see the land, but to begin imagining what it could feel like to live there.

Sun — Renovation Project Visit & Coastal Time

A leisurely drive brings us to our next project option, a renovation village project, with time for exploration, reflection, and a feel for the coastal setting. This part of the trip offers a different atmosphere and a different development pathway to consider.

Mon — Drive Back to Athens

We return to Athens at a comfortable pace, with time to rest, regroup, and focus on your own priorities. The evening is left open so you can relax, enjoy the city, or continue informal conversations with others in the group.

Tue & Wed — Practical Pathways and Partners Day

Tuesday and Wednesday are devoted to practical questions and next-step guidance for our members, who are all seriously considering moving overseas.

Tuesday is Hillcon Build Open House Day, with a presentation and Q&A, a partner-facing conversation, focused on plans, maps, sun and climate patterns, floor plans, site constraints, timelines, and implementation questions. It is designed as a grounded, decision-oriented day, with space for serious questions and a clearer understanding of what different development pathways may involve.

Wednesday is downtime for reflection and support, and for curated partner professional visits to gain the assistance and information you need about immigration, taxes, and the practicalities of moving to Greece. While professional fees are not included, they will be lower for our members.

Thursday

Depart Greece, or continue with an optional add-on fun adventures- see Evi for optional nature or cultural experiences you can do on your own or with a professional tour guide.

Site Tour Dates

Trips are Thursday to Thursday, with 6 days of site visits and regional visits, plus 2 days of travel on each end.

Late Spring — May

May is Laconia at its most alive—bright, fragrant, and effortlessly outdoors. Days are warm but not yet hot, the countryside is still lush, and evening light lingers long enough for slow dinners and unhurried conversations. This is an ideal season to explore the land comfortably, imagine gardens and shared outdoor spaces, and get a felt sense of how daily life flows as the region moves toward summer.

Dates: May 21–28, 2026

Early Autumn — September

September brings that golden “shoulder season” feeling—sun-warmed days and calmer, quieter villages. The sea is still inviting, the pace is relaxed, and the light has a soft clarity that makes the landscape feel especially vivid. It’s a great time to walk the site, visit nearby towns, and picture an easy year-round rhythm: community meals, morning swims, and evenings under the stars.

Dates: September 10-17

Spaces are limited, and early reservation is strongly recommended. Final reservation deadline: July 27, 2026, if space remains.

A Note: During this high tourist season, we ask that you help preserve our focus on our

intentional community.  We feel grateful for all of the interest from those already on

vacation to catch a glimpse of our stunning location and the larger and amazing nature and

wellness community our village is adjacent to. However, we prefer an intentional community

immersion approach to Explorer membership and consideration.  We are interested solely

in those who are traveling for the express purpose of considering investment in our specific community.

Harvest Season — October

October is one of the most grounded, generous times to be here. The heat has eased, the air is comfortable for long walks, and the region is full of harvest energy—olives, grapes, and the seasonal rituals that shape village life. If you want to understand the practical, lived texture of the place—how people work, gather, and move through the year—October offers a deeply authentic window.

Dates: Oct 8–15, 2026

Spaces are limited, and early reservation is strongly recommended. Final reservation deadline: August 24, 2026, if space remains

Late Harvest — November

November is a slower, more grounded time in the Peloponnese. The light softens, the land opens up, and conversations deepen. People who come now tend to arrive with clarity — ready to look carefully, ask real questions, and consider what living here would truly mean.

Dates: November 5–12, 2026

Spaces are limited, and early reservation is strongly recommended. Final reservation deadline: September 21, 2026, if space remains.

Early Winter — December

December is clear-skied, quiet, and beautifully local. The days are cooler, the villages feel intimate, and there’s a sense of steadiness to winter life—markets, cafes, and the everyday community rhythms you don’t see in peak season. This is a strong visit for people who want to understand what it’s really like to live here year-round, and to feel the calm confidence of the place in winter.

Dates: Dec 3–10, 2026

Spaces are limited, and early reservation is strongly recommended. Final reservation deadline: October 19, 2026, if space remains.
