Winter — February (two options)
February is a surprisingly beautiful time to experience Laconia. The Taygetes mountains are often capped with snow, but one feels only crisp and clear air on at our elevation. The land is green from winter rains. It’s a peaceful season that lets you experience the region in its authentic daily rhythm, without crowds and this is an opportunity for you to decide whether February feels like home to you in Laconia- a good time for quiet walks and connecting deeply with the landscape to envision what year-round life here feels like. For those seriously considering a move abroad, experiencing Laconia in winter can be essential—and this visit makes it possible.

Late Spring — May
May is Laconia at its most alive—bright, fragrant, and effortlessly outdoors. Days are warm but not yet hot, the countryside is still lush, and evening light lingers long enough for slow dinners and unhurried conversations. This is an ideal season to explore the la
nd comfortably, imagine gardens and shared outdoor spaces, and get a felt sense of how daily life flows as the region moves toward summer.
Dates: May 21–28, 2026

2 days Peloponnesos
3 days Crete
Early Autumn — September
September brings that golden “shoulder season” feeling—sun-warmed days and calmer, quieter villages. The sea is still inviting, the pace is relaxed, and the light has a soft clarity that makes the landscape feel especially vivid. It’s a great time to walk the site, visit nearby towns, and picture an easy year-round rhythm: community meals, morning swims, and evenings under the stars.
Dates: September 10-17

A Note: During this high tourist season, we ask that you help preserve our focus on our own
intentional community. We feel grateful for all of the interest from those already on
vacation to catch a glimpse of our stunning location and the larger and amazing nature and
wellness communityour village is adjacent to. However, we prefer an intentional community
immersion approach to Explorer membership and consideration. We are interested solely
in those who are traveling for the express purpose of considering investment in our specific community.
Harvest Season — October
October is one of the most grounded, generous times to be here. The heat has eased, the air is comfortable for long walks, and the region is full of harvest energy—olives, grapes, and the seasonal rituals that shape village life. If you want to understand the practical, lived texture of the place—how people work, gather, and move through the year—October offers a deeply authentic window.
Dates: Oct 8–15, 2026
Add On Options:
2 days Peloponnesos
3 days Crete
Late Harvest — November
November 5–12, 2026
November
November is a slower, more grounded time in the Peloponnese. The light softens, the land opens up, and conversations deepen. People who come now tend to arrive with clarity — ready to look carefully, ask real questions, and consider what living here would truly mean.
Early Winter — December
December is clear-skied, quiet, and beautifully local. The days are cooler, the villages feel intimate, and there’s a sense of steadiness to winter life—markets, cafes, and the everyday community rhythms you don’t see in peak season. This is a strong visit for people who want to understand what it’s really like to live here year-round, and to feel the calm confidence of the place in winter.
Dates: Dec 3–10, 2026

2 days Peloponnesos
3 days Crete

Sample Week (Core Peloponnesos)
Thu — Arrive in Athens (Koukaki)
Arrive in Athens and settle in. We recommend a morning or early afternoon flight if possible, so the day feels easy rather than rushed. In the evening, we gather for a relaxed welcome dinner and an introduction to the days ahead.
Fri — Travel to Laconia & Intro. to Land
In the early morning, rent a car near the hotel from our curated list, or join the hosted car transfer option. We then travel south from Athens into Laconia, through the Peloponnese and beneath the Taygetos mountains. After arriving, there is time to settle in, orient yourself, and from there we enjoy the afternoon amidst the Peter and Paul's Resort land, the broader setting adjacent to our village so you can begin to understand the land, views, microclimates, and the wider wellness setting nearby.
.
Sat — Taygete Cohousing Village Site Walk + Coastal Time
Saturday is the heart of the trip. We begin with an early visit to Sparta’s lively open-air market, then head to the Taygete Cohousing Village land itself for an unhurried experience of the site. We walk the land, take in the views and surroundings, and review the layout of the village on the ground, including the location of the homes, the Common House, and the overall site plan. We also make time for practical conversation, questions, and discussion about what is fixed, what is flexible, and how different home choices may work. Later in the afternoon, we continue on toward Kalamata and the coast.
Sun — Kalamata Region Day
Spend the day exploring the wider Kalamata region and, when available, selected already-built village-style properties that the group may wish to consider as alternatives to ground-up development. This is especially useful for those interested in a simpler or potentially faster pathway with more basic amenities already in place. When possible, we also use this day to experience nearby towns, villages, and everyday-life context so you can get a fuller sense of what living in the region might actually feel like.
Mon — Drive Back to Athens
Return to Athens at a comfortable pace, with time to rest and regroup after the Peloponnese portion of the journey. The evening is left open so you can relax, enjoy the city, or have informal conversations with others in the group.
Tue — Practical Pathways + Partners Day
Tuesday is devoted to practical questions and next-step realities. This is the day for a Hillcon Build open house and other partner-facing conversations, focused on plans, maps, sun and climate patterns, floor plans, site constraints, timelines, and implementation questions. It is designed as a grounded, decision-oriented day with space for serious questions and a clearer understanding of what different development pathways may involve.
Wed — Reflection, Questions, and Professional Support Day
Reflection day. This is the day to meet with an immigration attorney, tax professional, and other professionals to help answer your questions about practical life transition issues. Well draw on our GVC professional network, or you can branch out on your own to choose professionals you trust and gain that extra bit of information to help you map your transition.
Thursday
Depart Greece, or continue with an optional add-on to Pelion or Nafpaktos if one is being offered for your dates.
