What is Greek Village Cohousing?

Greek Village Cohousing is not just a physical house or village.  It is a process of moving from seeking to live a better life to the reality of living a better life.  It is a  deeply engaging, collaborative journey that transforms individuals into neighbors with a shared vision who live together in a beautiful community that reflects their vision and values.

Greek Village Cohousing began as a single project in my retirement, but given the now years of experience, it has evolved into an Intentional Community Cohousing and Ecohousing Incubation Hub™.

 

The methods I’ve developed over the years synthesize tools from cohousing communities around the world, global intentional communities, my own experience in cohousing, sociocracy, and Greek cultural traditions—adapting them to the realities of building resilient, international communities in Greece.

Through The Greek Village Cohousing | Ecohousing Incubation Hub, I continue the work of the original community, Taygetes Cohosuing Village, and I guide those interested in become a valued member of an intentional community in several areas of Greece through a uniquely designed process I’ve developed over many years. Empowerment through “The GVC Cohousing/ Ecohousing Collaborative Experience™ includes:

1. A grounding orientation process for new members, with access and control over shaping your future.  For those who need it, this includes vital assistance with immigration status and other important transition to Greece needs in a mutually supportive environment where I provide information and neighbors help each other.

2. Hands-on collaborative design workshop series --to become the driver of your new life and to enjoy collaborating with like- minded neighbors,

3. And the shared experience of enjoying Greece together in On-Site Gatherings in Greece for fun and events, collaborating together to build those bonds- so that you move in with a profound feeling of belongning, feeling valued, and enjoying the fact that your village reflects values of sustainability and resilance.

4. A real and beautiful village project to be part of! These are not just unattainable ideas, these are real, and only those who become part of our community get to move in!

GVC Collaborative Design Workshop Series™

The experience includes meeting together regularly our Collaborative Village-Building Workshop Series™, a rotating and ever-evolving set of activities that help members clarify shared values, shape the vision and design of the village, create community agreements, and plan for mutual support and sustainable living—while honoring the place and culture we’re rooted in.

Members don’t just “move in”—they belong, because they’ve helped build something meaningful together.

Exploratory Trips to Greece

Being a member of Greek Village Cohousing means you are eligible for immersive trips to Greece where prospective members can visit the village sites, walk the land, meet future neighbors, and take part in live design and orientation sessions. These visits help bring the vision to life—transforming the idea of “joining a community” into a tangible, grounded experience. It’s also a chance to begin forming bonds, clarify your own needs and hopes, and decide whether this is the right path for you.

Support with Golden Visas & Transition to Life in Greece

For members relocating from abroad, membership includes personalized support from Evi and your neighbors for transitioning to life in Greece. This includes eligibility for the Golden Visa if this is your choice, connecting with vetted legal and financial professionals, and offering guidance on residency pathways, healthcare, tax and other financial logistics, and cultural integration. Moving countries can be overwhelming—but you don’t have to figure it out alone. We’ve built this system to help you land gently and feel at home with neighbors helping neighbors and Evi providing a set of trusted professionals to contribute to success individually and thus a thriving community.
